Welcome to my art blog.

This is where you'll find some of the things I'm trying to accomplish... a little of this and that. Paintings, photography, collage and sewing...every artful endeavor helps me keep my sanity in this mixed up world.

Holiday Craft Season

Well, like it or not, the Christmas craft season is upon us.  I have no clue how that happens...summer one minute and Christmas frenzy the next.  What happened to Thanksgiving?   I have created a few new card images and feel somewhat prepared.  If you are in the Bellingham, WA area, Covenant Church on Bakerview has a large show this Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9-4 and Allied Arts starts on Nov. 17-Dec 24 next to the Burlington Coat Factory off Meridian Street.

Happy Camper

Fall is in the air.  It seems to always be a quick creative trip between summer and Christmas for me, but I try to squeeze in something fall-ish before the red and green takes over.

Latest work

Sometimes it feels like I'm a leaf floating on a current of river water...bumpy and undirected.  This 30" x 30" acrylic on canvas is on its way to an auction early 2018.

Couple of New Pieces

I've had the urge to create something colorful with acrylics.  I didn't want to spend too much time laboring over anything.  These are what happened.  Maybe I'll try the same images in oils.

Chilly spring

It's turning out to be a chilly spring with a lot of rain and wind....April showers and all that.  Anxious for the May flowers.  This is a new negative-shape acrylic on canvas.

For the love of stuff

A trip to the Goodwill produced some fun art-inspiring treasures.  I love "stuff" and if that stuff can inspire something on watercolor paper, all the better.

Just a little bit of sunshine would be nice

The month of March in the Pacific NW is not known to be balmy, but a little sunshine would be very welcome.  However, looking on the brighter side, the rain is beginning to feel warmer.

Daylight-Saving-Time Monday

First we need coffee.  So many things are made easier with enough caffeine on board.  This Monday after the beginning of Daylight Saving Time was one such event made possible with coffee.  Whew. Glad that's over.

Spring Dreaming

Well, they weren't kidding about this being a harsh winter here in the Pacific NW.  Seems like it's been one winter storm after another.  I know, I shouldn't complain to those living in places that experience WINTER every year, but we don't live in the Pac NW for harsh winters, thank you very much.  I'm ready for SPRING in a big way.

These are two new paintings from a series of abstract florals inspired by my spring flower fantasies, currently listed for sale on my Daily Paintworks site.

Looking forward to spring

Spring really can't come soon enough.  I know I shouldn't complain, but winter just is not my favorite season.  These paintings can be purchased through my DailyPaintworks site with the link in the far right column.
