Welcome to my art blog.

This is where you'll find some of the things I'm trying to accomplish... a little of this and that. Paintings, photography, collage and sewing...every artful endeavor helps me keep my sanity in this mixed up world.

Looking forward to spring

Spring really can't come soon enough.  I know I shouldn't complain, but winter just is not my favorite season.  These paintings can be purchased through my DailyPaintworks site with the link in the far right column.

The season is upon us

Yes, folks, it's that time of year again.  As if the election wasn't drama enough, now we have the holidays fast approaching.  I'll be trying to keep it simple....again.

Newest Totems

The 2016 Whatcom Artist Studio Tour was a great time to meet new people and reconnect with long-time friends of the arts.  I was so happy to be able to open my studio space and share my passion of creativity with those visitors.  Onward toward Christmas.  It is such a quick trip between summer and Christmas.

Change of the Season

One of the memories of my childhood was picking a few Gravenstein apples from the neighbor's apple tree after coming home from school in early September.  Fast forward nearly 50 years and the neighbor's property became my family's property and the Gravenstein tree is in my front yard.  It's a beautiful tree--must be a 100 years old and is still bearing hundreds of apples.

A bit of encouragement

This is the first in what I hope is a series of cards with words to cheer and encourage.  So many people face incredible challenges.  I hope my words will help them on their way.

New For Spring

Ahhhhh - spring is upon us once again.  With the flowers comes a need to somehow express the beauty.  These are two of a series of abstract florals done in acrylic on canvas.  They'll be on display at the Bellingham Farmers Market that begins next Saturday, April 2.  Can't wait.

Feeling a little like spring

I know it's too soon to consider it spring, but I so want it to be spring.  Relying on last year's photos of market flowers, I'm exercising my watercolor muscles after way too many rainy and windy days.
