Welcome to my art blog.

This is where you'll find some of the things I'm trying to accomplish... a little of this and that. Paintings, photography, collage and sewing...every artful endeavor helps me keep my sanity in this mixed up world.

Two for the show

Once in awhile, I find myself indicating I'd like to create a body of work for a show, knowing full well that life will spin out of control before I get the paintings done.  Such was the case when I signed up to participate in an upcoming show July 5, 2019 at the Allied Arts Gallery in Bellingham, WA.  I'm happy to report that seven paintings were completed, professionally photographed and ready to hang four days ahead of schedule.  These are two of the four "totems", 18" x 36", acrylic on hardboard.

Safe and Sound

My latest paintings to sell have made their way safely to Wisconsin and rest on the wall in a beautiful home of a new friend.  Thank you Terri for wanting these for your home.  They look wonderful in this setting.

Saying Goodbye

Well, after sharing my life with these three paintings for a year or so, I will be sending them off to live with their new family in Wisconsin.  Am I the only artist who forms an attachment to my paintings, who feels a bit of a loss when they sell?  That is the point of painting them in the first place, right?  To send them out into the world with the love that I've poured into creating them.   I need to paint three more very soon.

Newest Totems

The 2016 Whatcom Artist Studio Tour was a great time to meet new people and reconnect with long-time friends of the arts.  I was so happy to be able to open my studio space and share my passion of creativity with those visitors.  Onward toward Christmas.  It is such a quick trip between summer and Christmas.

Magnetic Personalities

I've just listed four new sets of magnets on my Etsy site (see link in right-hand column).  I figured if I was going to have to continue to contend with a metal post in the middle of my Bellingham Farmers Market booth, I might as well make it pay.  It's working out great!
