Welcome to my art blog.
This is where you'll find some of the things I'm trying to accomplish... a little of this and that. Paintings, photography, collage and sewing...every artful endeavor helps me keep my sanity in this mixed up world.

The not-so-lazy days of summer
I still have very fond memories of childhood summers. Life seemed to pass in slow motion. Our Whatcom County Library book mobile would park at the top of our driveway every other week and I can still remember the magical feeling I got inside that vehicle. It was so quiet, the sun always seemed to stream down through the little sky light, and there were all those books to chose from. Fast forward several decades...let's just say life is different.

It's coming. The leaves are starting to turn. As a kid, fall held an air of excitement, once the disappointment over the end of summer had passed. It was a chance to start again...reinvent myself, if possible. I don't think I ever did succeed at becoming someone new, but hope sprung eternal.

Collection of Shells
Summer is slipping through my fingers.... again. I've just had a blissful week off from my "real job" and enjoyed every unstructured second of it. No tropical vacations for me... no way. I'm content to stay at home and putter. Yes, putter. Not your everyday ordinary kind of puttering where one actually accomplishes something domestic. My puttering is for brainstorming some new creative project..nothing that actually furthers the cause of having an organized life. More details to follow... as soon as I think them up.
